About
Jameela qualified as a lawyer 2004 and as a Duty Solicitor in 2006. She is now a Solicitor Advocate based at our Head Office in London but has clients across all of England, Wales and Scotland.
As a solicitor advocate Jameela regularly appears at the Magistrates Court and Crown Court conducting trials. Her experience has had her defend clients charged with full range of offences ranging from a simple assault to conducting fraud trials over a 6 week period.
Jameela strongly believes that regardless of the type of allegation, or who is accused, everybody is entitled to not just basic legal representation, but to a solicitor who is ready to do everything possible to help them get the best outcome. She recognises that every person she represents is not just a client, but a human being, often facing one of the worst experiences imaginable. With that in mind, she treats everyone sensitively and with respect.
Over the years, Jameela has dealt with some of the firm’s most serious cases including high value complex frauds, drug conspiracies, murder and serious sexual allegations. Known for her tenacity and skill, Jameela excels in developing robust defence strategies and presenting compelling arguments in court. She has a particular focus on representing individuals at the pre-charge stage with a view to stopping cases getting to court. She was also instrumental in getting a conviction at the crown court for obtaining leave to remain by deception overturned after a client had served his prison sentence and had been let down by his previous solicitors. In this case, Jameela recognised the importance for her client to have his name cleared.
With a particular interest in white collar crimes. Jameela’s current caseload includes Human Trafficking, Prosecutions from Serious Fraud Organisations (SFO) and an unprecedented Very High Cost Case (VHCC). Jameela’s dedication to her clients and the legal community makes her a respected figure in criminal law.
